The ""Fats"" won, 20 to 6. See Silver City Enterprise, 26 August 1887.Most of the players are identified on the back of the original photograph. The team mascot, Sam Eckles, Jr., is the boy at the center. Directly behind him is a man with a icon of a beer keg on his shirt, the empire (either Dell Potter or Harry Whitehill). According to the Enterprise account, ""The fancifully dressed umpire wore a big revolver. His decisions were not disputed."" The man near him, wearing the top hat, is drum major Alf Fritsch. E. L. Gulden is on the far right, dressed as a Dutch peasant, complete with wooden shoes. Gulden's job was to dispense beer to those players who reached third base. The dog is unidentified.
