Description	This building stood on Bullard Street, a short distance south of Spring Street. The sign reads “Bicycle Repairing, Machine Work and Plumbing.” This business was opened in May 1897 by B. H. Spiller and E. G. Piper. In June of that year, R. L. Munson purchased Spiller’s interest. In October 1897, Piper purchased Munson’s interest. In April 1898, Mrs. Louisa Metzger opened the Columbia Lodging House in this building.
Notes	In the mid-1880s and early 1890s, this building contained a furniture store. In 1883, the Palace Hotel was opened in this building, which was adjoined on the north by the Benton House hotel. The building was torn down in 1915 and replaced with the Bullard Hotel.
