Description | J. D. Robb Field Recording. Recorded in Mesilla, NM. Spoken - no music. J.D.R. note: "Mrs. Fountain was the wife of a son of the famous Col. Fountain about whom Erna Feguson wrote so charmingly in her Murder and Mystery in New Mexico. These recordings were made in 1950 in Mesilla Park, N. M. Mrs. Fountain was then 88 years of age. They were transcribed and translated [by] Rowena Rivera. As they are very lengthy, they will not be included here but copies will be deposited in the Fine Arts Library of the University of New Mexico. They are well worth listening to or reading." |
