Subject | Apache Indians; Apache Indian dances |
Description | J. D. Robb Field Recording. Recorded in Mescalero, NM. Indian melody no Spanish or English text. J.D.R. note: " Eugene Chihuahua who, with members of his family, sang these songs is described in the Albuquerque Journal of December 13, 1963 as one of the survivors of the Mescalero Apaches who were made prisoners of war in 1886 and held captive in Florida for twenty-seven years. His somewhat rambling reminiscences were recorded by me on tape as No. 1637 of the present collection of song texts at Ruidoso, New Mexico on May 9, 1959." For complete note, see bound volume.
