Description	Handwritten and signed letter from D. H. Lawrence to George Conway, 10 June, 1925, from the Del Monte Ranch, Valdez, New Mexico. D.H. Lawrence comments to Conway about life in New Mexico, progress on his Mexico novel (which became The Plumed Serpent), and mentions the devastating illness he contracted in Oaxaca. George Conway was an English civil engineer who became manager of the Mexican Light and Power Company in 1916. He was also a writer on Mexican history. He and his wife befriended the Lawrences in Mexico City in 1925, and were helpful when Lawrence became ill in Mexico. Included is a photograph of Lawrence with his cow and Frieda's nephew, Friedel Jaffe.
